July 10, 2016: “A Christian Consensus: God’s Presence, Knowledge, and Power”

Audio of the sermon from July 10, 2016.

“During the Summer we are looking each week at an aspect of what I’ve been calling “the Christian consensus,” those basic claims all Christianity makes. Sometimes it can begin to seem as though we as Christians lead with our differences. But there is much we agree about; almost everything, in fact. We’ve looked already at the affirmation that Jesus of Nazareth is God living a human life, and at the Christian apprehension of God as triune, one God three ways.

“Today, with the help of these passages of Scripture, we will have a look at some of the attributes of God. (Some call them God’s “perfections.”) We’re going to look at just three: God’s presence, knowledge, and power.”
