July 17, 2016: A Christian Consensus: Salvation Is in Jesus

Audio of the sermon from July 17, 2016.

“If for some reason we didn’t or wouldn’t say that ‘the blood of Christ,’ which means the death of Christ on the cross, is the key to our life with God, we might be spiritual or devout in some way, we might believe God is there, and we might even want some kind of relationship with him. But we would not be Christian. The cross is not the only thing about Jesus that matters: his birth is important; his teaching is important, of course. But the cross and the empty tomb are the reason those other things matter. The events of Good Friday and Easter just are the gospel, ‘the message of our salvation.'”
