The Scripture readings are Exodus 35:30-36:11 and Ephesians 4:1-14 .

“God doesn’t need your money and your time and your skills just to check off items on his to-do list. No, we’re asked to make these kinds of sacrifices so that we as God’s people grow and mature into a certain kind of community, so that we together become what God intends the world to be. In our reading from Ephesians we learn something about what this means. We’re asked to use our gifts in God’s mission, ‘…until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.'”
