The Potters Hand

A Community Pottery Studio

Located in the basement of First Presbyterian Church

Core Team: Two Presbyterians, a Methodist, and a Catholic. Randi runs the studio, Pam prices pottery and keeps the glaze inventory, Emily runs the kiln, and Donna has the answer to almost any question.

The studio is open on Wednesday Mornings for anyone to use. The usual crowd numbers 10-20 and varies widely in skills. The core team and experienced potters offer instruction to less experienced. Camaraderie and creativity fill the space. The whole operation is financed by donations. Pottery is sold at the summer farmer’s market and various craft sales around the holidays. All funds left at the end go to the Presbyterian Home for Children, the local Family Resource Center, and other local charities.
